Across much of Europe we're experiencing one of the
hottest spells of the year.
Most people know they should drink more water when it's hot, but staying hydrated isn't just about quenching your thirst. It's about helping your body do what it was designed to do.
Even mild dehydration can leave you feeling:
• Tired and lacking energy
• Struggling to concentrate
• Headachy or dizzy
• More irritable than usual
• Less able to cope with the heat
Many
people assume they're just exhausted because of the weather, when in reality their body is simply crying out for water.
Here's something worth remembering...
By the time you actually feel thirsty, you're often
already mildly dehydrated.
A few simple habits that make a big difference:
💧 Start your morning with a large glass of water before reaching for tea or coffee.
💧 Keep a bottle of water with you throughout the day rather than trying to drink large amounts all at once.
💧 If you're exercising or spending time outdoors, increase your intake even more.
💧 Eat water-rich foods such as cucumber, watermelon, berries and leafy greens.
💧 If you're sweating heavily, remember that your body is losing minerals as well as water. Replacing key nutrients can help your body stay balanced and functioning at its best.
I've always believed that looking after our health doesn't have to be complicated. Small, consistent habits usually outperform occasional big efforts.
As a Christians, I am reminded that my body is a gift to steward
well. Looking after ourselves isn't vanity, it's wisdom. When we feel better, we can serve our families, our communities and our purpose with greater energy.
So over the next few days, do yourself a favour...
Drink the water.
Slow down when you need to.
Listen to your body.
Your future self will thank you.
To your health,

P.S. If you've been feeling unusually tired lately, don't automatically assume it's your age or that life is just busy. Sometimes something as simple
as better hydration, better nutrition and a few daily habits can make a remarkable difference.
